Get the Prop. 8 trial televised!

Please join in this if you agree.

In a follow-up email from couragecampaign.org, they stated:

While we are pleased that the trial may be on a delayed broadcast via YouTube at least, our call for full transparency -- a televised broadcast that network news and cable channels can pick up live, as it happens -- has not been met.

And, it's entirely possible that the 9th Circuit Appeals Court may overrule Judge Walker's ruling, shutting down all broadcasting -- even a delayed daily YouTube broadcast. Lawyers representing supporters of Prop. 8 have already opposed broadcasting the trial in any form whatsoever and are likely to fight Walker's ruling.

Along with my virtual signature, I added this note:
"This trial will effect all citizens in the US regardless of the outcome. It will have historical significance, and as such, should be viewable to the public. Also, putting this trial on air can contribute positively to public discourse about our civil liberties as it pertains to marriage and how we define equality."

Voted early today! WOO-HOO! Funny how some folks were obviously new to the electronic machines. Lots of confusion. Also, one chick backed out 'coz she was unsure about the Propositions. Man, oh, man. I had read up on it beforehand myself. It also seems some people didn't realize it wasn't just the President they were voting for - lots of local candidates too! Did y'all think the title of Sheriff was just from ye olden times when you watched Dukes of Hazard? [sound cue: YEE-HAH!]

GODS. The information is OUT THERE people! Don't just watch the boob tube and assume you're informed! I KNOW you ain't TEH DUMBS!

For egg-sample:

Cares about candidate's campaign contribution disclosure? I got mega-hits just on "obama contributions list". And whats do I find? Corporations can't contribute! It's their EMPLOYEES doing the contributing! So, BOTH Obama and McCain gets moneys from EMPLOYEES of corporations. SO WHUT! And how can it be any clearer than dis:

Lordy, I reads all ovahs the internets about (aboot?) allegedy-dis, allegedy dat. I then look for information, both sides, and decide what seems right. And what do you know? It's lots of flashy-flash and smokey mirrors and swine-sphincter BOLOGNA. I wanna mashy mash hedz, dummy 'Murkins!

It's really just about dis: ONE SIDE WANTS DIS -- OTHER SIDE WANTS DAT. And by Nov. 4th, we'll know who wins this national tug o' war. We'll know who we REALLY are, and what direction we're heading in.

Ah, whatevz. This is about as agitated as I'll get. A graph and LOLCAT speech impediment. HA. But I no-no cares! I did my part. I VOTED. NYAH :p~~~~

And - I'm going to be an auntie soon! They're inducing my sister on Wednesday (another reason I voted early).

Ja, ne!

the double-sided bullocks of doctor-donna

Watching the last episode of the latest Dr. Who, I've had a few interesting thoughts kick around after having a good nap ...and waking up at midnight, ha!

So Doctor-Donna was a genetic meld of herself and the Doctor, right? She needed a spark=>jump-start, so when the Doctor wipes her memory, he supposedly takes her back to a pre-Doctor Donna state. So, she doesn't remember anything about her adventures in the Tardis. I think this sucks 50 levels of major donkey butt!

What the hell is with getting rid of all the extra Doctors anyway? Are they afraid of everyone else being more badass than Doctor 1.0? Doctor-Donna is an improvement of the original Doctor; she's something the universe has been pulling towards for eons, so why only use her for one measly day? (Like his kid too, right? Earlier this season, Daughter-Doctor goes flying off into space, and we don't see her again! Why can't we follow her a while? Daughter-Doctor is spunky cute and sweet, plus she knows how to fight, hee!)

Also, the Doctor leaves Human Doctor in the other dimension with Rose. 'Pretty much just like me, why don't you fix him up, you're good at that, bye-bye!' What he doesn't tell her, or forgets, is that this new Doctor is Donna-Human! What's gonna happen the moment Rose encounters Donna-esque Doctor? She'll surprise him with something, and he'll be all, "OH! NO. WAY!" How funny is that? Why NOT indulge us the romantic adventures of Rose and Human-Doctor?

I wanna see all this! Why do we have to follow along with the Tardis Doctor anyway? Why not expand the universe a little and have adventures with everyone? Not spin-offs, like Sara Jane Adventures and the beleaguered Torchwood, but stories following the entire cast.... an episode of Martha here, Rose there, Daughter-Doctor, etc, and sometimes they'll team up! Why not? The next full season isn't until 2010, because the main actor wants breaks for other acting jobs. They could... Well, now I'm just fanta-rambling. That wouldn't be Doctor Who anymore, I guess.

But still! What a waste of interesting characters!

Now, there is one sneaky message I'm pondering whether they meant to put into Wall-E intentionally or not; maybe you can tell me whether I'm talking out of my ass on this.

What I hear: Hey kids!
We went out to eat and saw an elderly lady parked and talking with a cop at the corner of our restaurant. 'Oops, hit and run!' we thought.

We go inside and are seated. After a while 3 other cops show up and consult with the lady. 'Do they really need 4 cops for one little lady?' wonders the waiter.

Then we see the new cops turn to inspect the front bumper on the first cop's car! O_o

This article about how shoes are actually bad for our feet made me happy. I've been eyeballing these barefoot style shoes for a while now.

But what I'm liking best right now is the remembered image of my father from when I was growing up. He walked everywhere barefoot, even at the grocery store. And he'd also just wear his beige Dickies shorts (no shirt), and with his long shoulder-length curly hair and crazy beard and beer belly, he looked a sight. Crazy Mexican caveman, he was. His feet were always so dirty, cracked and calloused. But he never gave a crap what anyone thought about his appearance. Still doesn't. I admire him so! :D
